MLBB and League of Legends Topped Esports Viewership Charts in July 2026

July 2026’s esports viewership was dominated by major MOBA tournaments. Mobile titles claimed most of the top spots on the global leaderboard, while League of Legends landed two of its events in the top three. Once the numbers were filtered to English-language broadcasts, though, viewership spread across a wider mix of games.
Mobile Titles Dominated the Global Charts
The MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026 posted the highest peak viewership of any tournament in July. Although the event didn’t wrap until August 1, its viewership peak actually landed in late July — enough to put it ahead of every other competition for the month.
Mobile games overall took three of the five top global slots. Joining MSC were the Free Fire tournament at EWC 2026 and the Arena of Valor Premier League 2026, both fueled largely by audiences in Southeast Asia and other Asian markets.
League of Legends was the only title to place two separate events in the global top five: its Mid-Season Invitational came in second, and its Esports World Cup tournament ranked third.
MSI Came Out on Top for English-Language Viewership
The rankings shifted once the data was narrowed to English-language streams. MSI 2026 jumped to first place, trailed by MSC and the League of Legends tournament at EWC.
MSC managed to hold onto second place in this filtered view even though the bulk of its total audience watched in other languages. Free Fire and Arena of Valor, on the other hand, dropped out of the English rankings entirely, since nearly all of their viewership came from regional-language broadcasts.
Rounding out the English-language top five were the Call of Duty League 2026 Playoffs and the ALGS 2026 Split 1 Playoffs, giving this list a noticeably broader spread across PC, console, and mobile platforms.
Regional Broadcasts Reshuffled the Channel Rankings
Channel-level rankings looked different depending on whether they were measured by total hours watched or by short-term peak viewership. LCK led in cumulative watch time, while MPL Indonesia posted the highest single-channel peak of the month.
Korean Esports World Cup broadcasts showed up in the rankings alongside LoL Esports, Garena’s Vietnamese Arena of Valor stream, and France’s OTP channel — a sign that audiences were tuning into a blend of official regional channels and community co-streams.
That’s a notable shift from June, when ESL’s Counter-Strike broadcasts accounted for most of the top channel positions. In July, viewership was distributed more broadly across organizers, regions, and games.
